Carta de Toussaint Louverture, General en Jefe del Ejército de Santo Domingo, a Henri Christophe, General de Brigada y Comandante por el interior del Distrito del Este. Indicaba que había recibido una carta de Christophe en la que señalaba la solicitud que había realizado Christophe a jueces de paz y a municipios para cambiar la fecha de la Asamblea primaria. Toussaint le reprochaba que, como conocedor de la ley, debía saber que esto era imposible. El mismo Toussaint se alegraba que esto no hubiera causado contratiempos y esperaba que la Asamblea hubiera escogido hombres íntegros y amigos de la libertad. Acorde al calendario republicano, la fecha es 14 germinal año 6.

Letter by Toussaint Louverture, General in Chief of the Santo Domingo Army, to Henri Christophe, General of the Brigade and Commander for the interior of the East District. Indicates that he received a letter by Christophe in which he mentioned the request that Christophe had made to judges of peace and to municipalities to change the date of the primary Assembly. Toussaint reproached that, as someone knowledgeable in the law, he should know this was impossible. Toussaint himself was pleased that this had not caused setbacks and hoped the Assembly had chosen men of integrity and friends of liberty. According to the republican calendar, the date is 14 germinal year 6.
