Carta de Toussaint Louverture, General en Jefe del Ejército de Santo Domingo, a Henri Christophe, General de Brigada y Comandante en Jefe del Distrito de Cap (Haitien). Indicaba que, por carta anterior de Christophe, había recibido la noticia de la muerte del hijo del General Moyse. Asimismo, indicaba que, por carta del día 4 de dicho mes, sabía de la llegada de una embarcación proveniente de Saint Thomas que llevaba 17 pasajeros. Toussaint se quejaba que no hubieran puesto en libertad a las mujeres y los enfermos, por lo que autorizaba que hicieran esto. Por último, le señalaba a Christophe que siguiera estas mismas órdenes para el barco proveniente de Bordeaux. Acorde al calendario republicano, la fecha es 5 termidor año 9.

Letter by Toussaint Louverture, General in Chief of the Santo Domingo Army, to Henri Christophe, Brigadier General and Commander in Chief of the Cap (Haitian) District. It indicates that, by a letter previously sent by Christophe, he had received news of the death of General Moyse’s son. It also indicates that, by a letter of the 4th day of said month, he (Toussaint) knew of the arrival of a ship from Saint Thomas that had 17 passengers. Toussaint complained that they had not freed women and the sick, and authorized them to do so. Lastly, he pointed out to Christophe to follow these same orders for a ship coming from Bordeaux. According to the republican calendar, the date is 5 thermidor, year 9.
