Carta de Toussaint Louverture, General en Jefe del Ejército de Santo Domingo, a Henri Christophe, General de Brigada y Comandante en Jefe del distrito de Cap (Haitien). Informaba que había recibido las cartas de Christophe vía su secretario Allier. En dichas cartas se aludía a la situación expuesta por la administración municipal de Doudou al Directorio Ejecutivo de Francia, aunque, por las ocupaciones de Toussaint, no se preveía que pudiera intervenir. Finalmente, se lamentaba la muerte del Comisario de Guerra Mailliard, dado que no habían muchas personas como él para estos puestos. Acorde al calendario republicano, la fecha es 5 pluvioso año 7.

Letter by Toussaint Louverture, General in Chief of the Santo Domingo Army, to Henri Christophe, General of the Brigade and Commander in Chief of the Cap District (Haitien). Informs he received Christophe's letters via his secretary Allier. The letters alluded to the situation exposed by the Doudou municipal administration to the Executive Director of France, although; due to Toussaint's occupations, they did not foresee a possible intervention. Finally, he regretted the death of the Commisary of War Maillard, given that there were not many people like him for the job. According to the Republican calendar, the date is 5 pluviôse year 7.
